If perfect is what you're looking for then I am sure there is a factory somewhere that can make exactly what you want. After all, many of us like clean, exact products from our watches to our cars. I insist on precise manufacturing with many of my tools. My favourite tools however, are my vintage tools, worn down by the use of knowing hands and stained with love for what they built, these are my special tools, there are no duplicates of these. It's what's gone into creating them that make them valuable to me and in many ways, special.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of hand made is uniqueness. Knowing there are no two alike, knowing you have one of one, knowing it is an individual piece made with worn hands imbuing character. Every knick, each missed alignment, the bubbles, knots, veins & lines are part of the created character & they all add up to make each piece an individual, unique & a precious item.The lack of perfection in natural products make them perfect in my eyes.
To this end I take this axiom to heart & ensure that nothing I do is ever perfect! (He says with a wink) Have a look.
